My writing to do list seems like it keeps growing. I've been working on book one in my new sci-fi series and have been really happy with how it's developing. It started with a little nod toward my Mirror series and a whole new dimension to my fmc, Ember, has come to light. That's something I've always loved when it came to writing. Sometimes one little spark can mean so much.
Working with my publisher on creating the cover art for Mirror Image! We're getting closer to the April 25th launch date and I can't wait to share it. It may seem silly to some, but I've been looking forward to the cover for a long time. I have a very specific image in my head but I trust Catrina to create something awesome.
I spoke on Twitter recently about Mirror Image, stating that I felt like my book has anything a sci-fi fan could offer. That's not a marketing plug. I really mean it. Romance, action, clones, alien races and worlds, Star Wars and Star Trek references. Even paintball. That's just a tip of the iceberg.
Someone asked me about the references. I can't tell you exactly what but a fan of both series will recognize it when it happens. I love to sprinkle little bits of me here and there. After all, it is mine and this series is so close to my heart. Seems only natural.
The publication of Mirror Image has been over a year in the works for me. I know the previous attempts just meant it wasn't ready even though I felt confident. Now I'm really glad I didn't self publish when I got frustrated. Working with Catrina and Jen has been more than rewarding for me. They have helped really mold me from the girl who started writing a dream she had down to an author. I'm really proud of the finished product and am dying for April 25th to get here.
But there's still so much to do in the meantime! Soon, my editor and I will begin working on the second. I may take a deep breath before begin writing the third. But there is a little spark in the back of my mind that is contemplating a fourth and even a prequel to Mirror Image. I am not sure if I'm actually going to write either story or maybe I'll do a series of shorts...okay, the wheel is turning again. But one thing I know for certain is that I'm no longer calling this a trilogy.

Don't restrict yourself to a trilogy. Creativity works that way. A series will become what it was meant to be with enough patience. And thanks so much for your kind words. It's been wonderful working with you!
As Jen said, don't limit yourself to a trilogy. The story will be however long it needs to be in order to be told. And if you discover that there's more to be said than can be covered in three books, then it's a happy accident. The more the merrier! But keep up all the amazing work, Kristina. It's been real fun getting to know you and work with you so far. I'm really looking forward to seeing where your future projects take you.
