Little Falls book 1 by Liza O'Connor

Little Falls
Book 1
Finding True Love
By Liza O’Connor

Blurb

Carrie Greyson leaves New York and moves to Little Falls, Montana with a dream to turn a broken-down ranch into a refuge for battered women. Trouble finds her on day one as her car is washed into a ravine, soon to soar off a cliff into the river below.
Just when all her dreams seem ready to collapse, she discovers a whole town willing to help her. And after some mis-steps, she even determines which lover is solid and which are not.

EXCERPT
Life saving is exhausting
She focused at the source of the pain across her chest: a rope. A rope was around her chest, pinning her arms to her sides. She followed the taut end of the rope up the bank to a pickup truck parked twenty feet down the road. How the hell did she get tied to a truck?
She watched as a cowboy tied a second rope to the truck’s front bumper and the other end of the rope around his waist. She turned her face away from the shower of rocks which pummeled her as he scrambled down the steep side of the ravine.
His slide stopped once he was beside her.
“Are your legs injured?” he yelled over the roar of the water.
Carrie didn’t have the strength to yell in return, so she answered with a shake of her head.
He looked relieved. “When I lift you, use your feet to help climb up this bank. Can you do that?”
She nodded. To get out of this water, she could do anything. She doubted, given his angle, he’d be able to give her much lift, but honestly, if he could just turn her enough that she could get her feet beneath her, she’d climb this damn bank even without the use of her arms, still held tight by the rope.
He did more than flip her. He managed to flip and secure her to his side so that his body helped balance her as she slipped and scrambled up the muddy embankment. His arm firmly around her waist prevented her from sliding back when she’d lose traction. When they made it to the top, both sat in silent exhaustion for several minutes. Finally, Carrie caught her breath sufficiently to speak.

Meet the Author
Liza O’Connor

Hello! All my fabulous friends!
I am working really hard to get all my books out wide, while continuing to churn out a book a month. How can I do this, you ask?
It’s because in my early years, I didn’t publish anything. I just kept writing. I feared that publishing would break my focus on writing. Thus, I had over a hundred and thirty books written and no one but me to read them.

A dear friend, Rebecca Royce, convinced me to submit one of my books to a publisher. Honestly, I found them too slow to act, so after the second book with a publisher, I decided to publish my third book on my own. Worst Week Ever turned out to be my Best Seller. And I’ve never looked back from that fabulous decision.
However, recently, I decided I needed to go wide, so I jumped on the D2D wagon and I’m getting both my back log and new books up as well so everyone can enjoy them.

I presently have over 50 novels. The actual amount keeps changing since I publish
a new book each month.

Yes, it is exhausting, but I love writing books.
I hope you’ll take a peek at your many options.
I write Contemporary, Historical, Sci-Fi, Paranormal, Romance, Suspense and even modern cowboy stories.

I hope you will enjoy my books at whatever service you prefer.

There are over 50 books. (I’ve stopped counting.)

Lady Anne: Redeemed by Liza O'Connor

Lady Anne
Book Two
-Redeemed-

Blurb

Being forced to leave one’s country and shipped to America is a terrible beginning for any marriage. In fact, Anne and Aaron are not legally married, since Anne refused to sign the marriage certificate.
Certain Anne will love her new life, Aaron pays off her servants, shuts down her home, and takes her to America against her wishes. He quickly discovers that an angry, defiant Anne is more than his heart can endure. If he could turn the ship around, he would have done so. Instead, he assigns Jacko to deal with the hell-cat.
When they finally arrive in Charlotte, North Carolina, Aaron no longer wishes to marry Anne. Still he cannot send her across the ocean in the icy winter waters. It is far too dangerous. So, the angry she-cat remains ‘his wife’ as they make the long journey home to his ranch in the Kentucky hills. Having no alternative, Anne agrees to remain six months on his ranch, until it is safe to cross the ocean again. Then, come summer, if she wishes, she can return to England.
Unfortunately, when they finally reach Aaron’s ranch, he discovers over half his horses have been sold on the cheap, his ranch is in disrepair, and the man he had put in charge is now declaring he is the owner of the property. His anger towards his ‘wife’ is no longer his main concern. He must reclaim his property, rehire his men, and rebuild his ranch. With winter arriving, if he doesn’t turn matters around quickly, they will all die.

Excerpt

“Then why do you call yourself by another name?”
Anne paused, hoping the older woman would silence her daughter’s impertinent question, but she did not. Instead, she also seemed to be waiting for an answer.
“It was a slip of the tongue. I have been a Rothschild all my life. One can hardly fault me for a moment of forgetfulness.”
Diana smirked again. “If he were my husband, I certainly would not forget it.”
“Now, dear,” Mary Dobbs reached over and patted the girl’s leg. “Not everyone has your amazing mind.”
Stunned and outraged by the woman’s insinuation that her ‘forgetfulness’ equated to ‘dimwittedness,’ Anne searched for a reply she could make and remain a lady. Unable to find one, she lifted her head and peered out the carriage window, pretending they did not exist at all.
Fortunately, the ride to the inn was short. Her foot stomped impatiently, waiting for the driver to open the door.
“Why don’t you get out?” Diana finally asked in exasperation.
Having enough of the young girl’s impertinence, Anne nailed her with a look of contempt and anger. “A lady waits to be assisted from a carriage. But of course, you would not know that.”
Diana rolled her eyes. “Well, seeing as how I don’t know about such things, I’ll go before you.”
As she crawled over Anne, her heavy boot crushed down on Anne’s slipper. When Diana opened the door, Anne pushed her rear-end with all her might, while declaring “You are on my foot, you clumsy cow!” The girl would have gone head first into the mud, if not for the timely arrival of Aaron who secured Diana in his arms and saw her safely righted.
He then reached in and offered his hand to the older woman, apologizing for his wife’s behavior.
“Do not apologize for me,” Anne growled.
Aaron glared her into silence. “You are causing a scene, Anne. It is most unbecoming.” He grabbed her by her elbow and pulled her forcefully from the carriage. He then politely motioned for all the ladies to precede him into the inn.
